Offer description

Role Purpose

* Provide day-to-day maintenance and support for automation, electrical, and instrumentation systems at Pelta Medical Papers Limited.
* Assist the Engineering team with upgrades, improvements, and installation of new equipment and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out routine maintenance, fault finding, and repair of automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
* Support the transition from older electro-pneumatic controls to modern automated systems (QCS).
* Provide hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostics to minimise plant downtime.
* Assist with small automation/control projects and support engineers on larger projects.
* Produce and update schematic drawings using AutoCAD.
* Work with suppliers to support QCS systems.
* Liaise with external contractors on maintenance and project activities.
* Keep up-to-date with new tools, equipment, and technology relevant to instrumentation and control.

Skills & Competencies

* Practical problem-solving and strong fault-finding ability.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Organised and proactive, with attention to detail in maintenance and record-keeping.
* Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.

Qualifications

* Recognised Electrical or Instrumentation qualification (minimum NVQ/HNC or equivalent). Degree desirable but not essential.

Technical Experience

* Knowledge of QCS systems.
* Understanding of control loops and PLCs.
* Experience with DC drives.
* Competence with AutoCAD schematic drawings.
* Hands-on industrial fault-finding experience.
* Exposure to project/installation work in a manufacturing environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
