Consolidation and Financial Systems Specialist
Location: HQ Hemel Hempstead or London Blackfriars.
Job Description
* Process ownership and governance for the Division’s consolidation system (Onyx).
* Define the financial reporting consolidation mechanism and deliverables, ensuring alignment with internal customers.
* Engage key stakeholders to identify pain points and improvement opportunities.
* Develop and maintain process documentation, policies, controls and desktop procedures.
* Implement governance measures, metrics and review forums to manage performance.
* Design and improve source systems and mapping to eliminate manual interventions.
* Manage functional dimensions and granularity to harmonise reporting across entities.
* Implement strategic plan processes in Onyx for better long‑term business plans and scenario analysis.
* Enhance Onyx to improve efficiency, including speeding up consolidation time and improving user interfaces.
* Validate changes to ensure no financial impact and maintain system integrity.
* Embed budgeting, forecasting and reporting across all entities with full approval and version control.
* Update KPIs and reports in Onyx based on definition changes.
* Provide SME support and functional guidance during month‑end close and throughout the year.
* Resolve validation issues and support entities in meeting submission deadlines.
* Process BAU requests aligning with the Onyx strategic plan and ensure proper set‑up.
* Validate BAU changes and maintain correct mapping in Onyx.
* Ensure adequate testing after any change to Onyx.
* Manage Onyx improvements to prevent adverse impacts elsewhere.
* Offer support for ad‑hoc requests and projects as identified.
Qualifications
Education
* Qualified Accountant with a Professional Financial Qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* Degree level education or equivalent.
Experience
* Strong group consolidation experience with deep systems expertise (ideally Onyx or similar).
* Expertise in financial reporting and consolidation systems, including managing the consolidation of multiple entities (Oracle Hyperion EPM highly desirable).
* Strong financial understanding of accounting requirements, primary statements, backup schedules and double entries.
* Experience designing and implementing process changes.
