We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced respiratory nurse/s to join our highly motivated team of Respiratory Nurse Specialists.
The core function of the respiratory nurse specialist team is to facilitate early supported discharge, follow-up patients at home thus reducing length of stay. The team also manages the home oxygen service for all respiratory patients across Fife.
The Respiratory Nurse Specialist team delivers a wide range of other services including:
General respiratory clinic reviews
ILD support clinic/ service
Difficult to treat asthma clinic/biologic treatment clinics
Long-term oxygen assessments - both inpatient and outpatient
Trial nebulised antibiotic dosing for patients with complex respiratory infection
Adhoc reviews for admission avoidance (at patients homes and in ward attender clinics)
Support for acute NIV/CPAP
Outpatient/inpatient sleep studies
Initiation and management of domiciliary NIV/CPAP via Airview home monitoring programme
IPC drain management
Empyema drain management
Staff education
The service is currently undergoing some further development and redesign. Due to the breadth of service provision the team delivers the ideal candidate/s will need to have extensive respiratory experience including recent acute experience and be motivated with a passion for delivering high quality respiratory care and keen to develop. Full driving license and access to a car is also essential. Weekend working is also required as part of the role.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
