Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. Your ability to support clients with diverse needs, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia, will be crucial in delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to clients in assisted living or home environments
* Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, bathing, dressing, and mobility
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
* Support clients with behaviour management strategies when necessary
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
* Document care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or manager
* Perform heavy lifting when required to assist clients with mobility or transfers
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Assisted living or nursing home environments
* Patient care within hospice or senior care settings
* Alzheimer's and dementia care practices
* Home care services and caregiving responsibilities
* First aid certification is advantageous
