As an ALM Transformation – Model Controls AVP, you will be responsible for providing assurance reviews over controls across model lifecycle processes for the business. You will lead on executing model governance and controls-related activities.
You will work closely with our Independent Validation Unit team by back testing models and collating these results. You will also implement model standards in line with new regulations, read model validation documents, and manage audit requirements within the business area.
Candidates from backgrounds such as audit, model validation, or ALM are encouraged to apply. The role requires the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the development of the ALM function, with a strong understanding of banking and financial services.
The role may assess key skills like risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and technical skills.
Purpose of the role
To model, measure, and manage the bank’s financial balance sheet, report and optimize its risk profile and profitability by analyzing assets and liabilities, and developing strategies to manage interest rate risk and other ALM risks.
Accountabilities
* Identify, model, and measure the bank’s interest rate risk, including reporting risks internally and externally.
* Develop and implement strategies to manage interest rate risk, including hedging strategies.
* Manage the bank's balance sheet to optimize asset and liability allocation, ensuring risks are within tolerance levels.
* Manage the bank's interest rate risk capital position to ensure regulatory compliance and support growth.
* Develop financial models to analyze the balance sheet and support decision-making.
* Support the development and pricing of customer products aligned with the bank’s risk appetite.
* Measure capital requirements related to interest rate and credit spread risks.
