Accessible Transport | SEND & SEN Services
🌟 The Role at a Glance
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of a private accessible transport service. You’ll support the Transport Service Manager and step up as Manager-on-Duty when needed.
You’ll plan and coordinate daily routes for adults with learning disabilities and SEN children and young people (ages 5–25), keeping a 13-vehicle fleet running safely, smoothly, and on time — with people always coming first.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
🗺️ Route Planning & Scheduling
1. Create and manage daily routes and timetables
2. Allocate drivers, passenger assistants, and vehicles
3. Optimise routes for efficiency, punctuality, and individual needs
4. Keep route plans and journey times accurate and up to date
⚡ Day-to-Day Operations
5. Manage last-minute changes (absences, cancellations, timetable updates)
6. Respond calmly to live issues like delays, breakdowns, or staff shortages
7. Work closely with the Transport Manager to keep services moving
❤️ SEND & Passenger Support
8. Ensure transport meets EHCP requirements and risk assessments
9. Clearly communicate passenger needs to staff
10. Handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality
📞 Communication & Relationships
11. Be a key contact for schools, colleges, families, and care providers
12. Share service updates, delays, and route changes clearly and professionally
13. Build strong, positive working relationships
🖥️ Systems & Admin
14. Maintain scheduling systems, databases, and records
15. Update rotas, route sheets, and staff allocations
16. Support reporting on punctuality, attendance, and performance
