Overview
We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registered) to join our proactive and supportive general practice team. This is a key role focused on ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely management of prescriptions, supporting medicines optimisation, patient safety, and quality improvement across the practice.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and issue repeat prescriptions efficiently and safely
* Reconcile patient medications following hospital discharge or outpatient communication
* Respond to patient medicines queries and liaise with community pharmacies to resolve prescription issues
* Support high-risk medicine monitoring, medication reviews, and prescribing safety initiatives
* Assist with formulary updates, prescribing changes, and practice medicines optimisation projects
* Contribute to audits, quality improvement activities, and practice-level medicines management initiatives
* We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and confident, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience in primary care is desirable but not essential.

About us
We are a well-established Training Practice based in a modern building at Colne Health Centre. We have a large, friendly multidisciplinary team and place strong emphasis on teamwork, support, and learning.
Our practice is part of Pendle East PCN, working closely with a wider network of professionals including Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, and a Health and Wellbeing Team. This allows our administrative staff to feel well supported and part of a broader primary care system.
Alongside our clinical team, we have a highly experienced and supportive non-clinical team, with opportunities for development and shared learning within a busy but welcoming environment.
