AR738 - Operations Manager - Apprenticeships\n\nLocation: Uxbridge \n\nSalary: £46,543 - £50,646\n\nOverview:\n\nAn opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Operational Manager to lead Electrical and Building Services apprenticeship provision. The role focuses on driving the growth of apprenticeship programmes through both levy and non-levy funding, ensuring high-quality teaching, excellent retention and timely achievement rates.\n\nThe postholder will be responsible for curriculum delivery, staff management, and quality assurance, while supporting strategic partnerships with employers and other stakeholders. The position also involves deputising for the Assistant Director of Technical Apprenticeships and playing a key role in the development and expansion of the programme.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nLead the recruitment of apprentices, working with internal teams and employers to provide advice, guidance, and skills assessments.\nParticipate in open evenings and employer engagement events.\nEnsure accurate completion of training plans, skill scans, and course promotional materials.\nDesign and deliver apprentice inductions and support materials.\nPromote the use of e-portfolio systems (e.g., OneFile) for tracking and monitoring learner progress.\nCoordinate academic reviews and ensure compliance with funding and quality frameworks.\nMonitor learner attendance and progress, ensuring regular communication with employers.\nIdentify and support apprentices with additional learning needs through referrals and diagnostics.\nKeep curriculum resources updated and accessible through digital platforms.\nPrepare termly employer reports and lead employer update meetings on progress and off-the-job training.\nCollaborate with employers to design and deliver bespoke training plans aligned with industry standards.\nEnsure timely assessment, progression, and gateway readiness of all apprentices.\nSupport delivery through IT, blended learning, and e-learning resources.\nOrganise and lead internal standardisation and external verification activities.\nMonitor and meet key performance indicators, including attendance, off-the-job training, achievement and success rates.\nManage registration processes and liaise with awarding organisations as needed.\nLead curriculum team meetings and case conferences for quality improvement.\nConduct teaching observations and annual staff appraisals.\nDevelop and implement action plans as part of the Quality Improvement Plan.\nCreate efficient timetables and staffing plans to maximise resources.\nSupport agency and part-time staff management and recruitment.\nBuild and maintain strong employer partnerships to support curriculum growth and learner outcomes.\nRepresent the programme at strategic meetings and planning forums.\nPromote progression opportunities and employer satisfaction.\nEnsure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity policies.\nUndertake any other duties relevant to the scale of the post.\nSkills and Qualifications\n\nDegree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline\nLevel 5 teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DET)\nAssessor and Verifier qualifications\nMinimum of 3 years' experience teaching or assessing within Engineering or Building Services\nIn-depth understanding of apprenticeship standards and ESFA funding compliance\nProven ability to manage staff and deliver high-quality learning outcomes\nStrong organisational and communication skills\nExperience using digital tracking platforms such as OneFile\nLocation: Uxbridge \n\nSalary: £46,543 - £50,646
