Head of Finance - Fast Growth eCommerce Group - Cheshire
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join a privately owned, multi-entity eCommerce group as its first dedicated Head of Finance.
The business is established and profitable, generating £10m+ in annual revenue, with a strong presence in a specialist healthcare and wholesale distribution market. Having grown rapidly, the group is now entering a new phase focused on operational maturity, systems integration, and strategic scalability. This role has been created to support that transition.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the founders and working closely with an experienced strategic advisor, you will take ownership of the finance function and play a central role in shaping the next stage of the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Establishing robust financial controls, governance, and reporting frameworks
* Improving the accuracy and timeliness of management accounts
* Supporting the implementation of integrated systems across finance, inventory, and CRM
* Bringing greater visibility to stock, margin, and cash flow performance
* Partnering with leadership on commercial decision-making and pricing strategy
* Supporting group restructuring and process optimisation initiatives
* Contributing to the development of management information and FP&A capability
* Assisting with preparations for a future event
The Environment
The business operates at pace within a high-volume transactional setting. While commercially successful, its internal infrastructure is still evolving. This presents a significant opportunity for the right individual to introduce structure, discipline, and scalable processes, while working closely with an engaged and ambitious leadership team.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Experience within eCommerce, retail, or stock-intensive environments
* Demonstrated ability to build or significantly improve finance functions
* Strong technical grounding combined with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach
* Experience with systems implementation and process development
* Commercially aware, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
Package & Location
* Salary: £65,000 – £75,000
* Predominantly office-based, with some flexibility
