Your impact
Join Us as a Senior Consultant, Shaping Sustainable Waste Solutions Across the Middle East
Are you ready to make a global impact in waste and resource efficiency? We're seeking a passionate and experienced Senior or Principal Consultant (UK-based) to lead transformative waste management projects across the Middle East and beyond.
In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of designing innovative waste strategies for some of the world’s most ambitious developments — from cutting-edge mixed-use communities to megaprojects like airports and railways. You’ll collaborate with international teams, influence master planning decisions, and help shape the future of sustainable infrastructure.
If you're excited by the idea of combining technical expertise with global collaboration, and you thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment, this is your opportunity to make a real difference.
The work is likely to include the following deliverables
* Waste strategy – Review of development proposals to identify preferred waste management approaches (waste segregation, storage, collection and treatment) to underpin waste management strategies). This includes development of technical reports to support RIBA design stages for architecturally led building and master plan projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.
* Circular economy strategy – clients are increasingly interested in circular economy and request that opportunities are sought to incorporate it into the design and operation of projects.
* Waste arisings modelling – Development of excel models to estimate waste arisings to inform the development of waste strategies. This may include operational wastes, typically municipal solid wastes, and construction and demolition waste estimates
* Optioneering/feasibility studies – At an early stage in projects production of optioneering or feasibility studies may be required to identify a preferred waste management approach this may consider innovative technologies such as automated waste collection or provision of largescale infrastructure such as a waste transfer or recycling facilities.
* Waste management design – working with architects to design and plan for waste management as part of building and master plan projects. This may include design of buildings, master plans or waste management facilities. This requires coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, goods/logistics, structural and MEP specialists.
* Site waste management planning – preparation of site waste management plans or input to construction environmental management plans for management of construction and demolition wastes.
The main focus of this role will be on Middle East projects. However, this position will be part of the UK Waste and Resource Efficiency Team and will have the ability to work other UK waste related projects.
We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
Here's what you'll need
* A good degree qualification in a relevant environmental/natural science/waste management or similar subject;
* Experience with and strong technical understanding of waste and resource management (as per the bullet points in the job description);
* Experience of working on international and /or Middle East waste management projects
* Knowledge and experience of addressing challenges and opportunities relating waste and resource management;
* A proven track record of successful delivery on environmental and/or waste projects and programmes working in a client-facing role;

* Reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships
* Opportunity to buy/sell annual leave
* Free employee medical cover and digital GP service
* Enhanced parental leave pay
* Fertility healthcare and family-forming benefit provided by Carrot
