Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Safety Case Author to play a key role in developing safety, environmental, and security documentation for a major nuclear new build programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most innovative energy projects and support the safe design and delivery of next-generation technology.
Your main responsibilities
* Lead the production of high-level safety case documentation and supporting materials.
* Manage the development and submission of assigned deliverables through internal governance and review processes.
* Support responses to regulatory queries and observations, ensuring clarity and compliance throughout.
* Collaborate with engineering, safety, and regulatory teams to deliver well-structured and robust safety arguments.
* Contribute to planning and strategy activities, helping shape the ongoing development of safety case route maps.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
* 5+ years’ experience working in nuclear safety case development.
* Demonstrated experience authoring complex safety documentation and technical reports.
* Strong understanding of safety case structures, including claims, arguments, and evidence.
* Knowledge of environmental, security, and safeguards cases is desirable.
* Effective communicator with the ability to engage cross-discipline teams and regulators.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Degree BSc or MSc in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
