The North London NHS Foundation Trust seeks to appoint an enthusiastic full-time consultant psychiatrist to Sussex Ward, a 17-bed male acute psychiatric ward at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield. The post is available following the departure of the previous substantive consultant.
This role offers 10 Programmed Activities per week: 7.5 PAs for direct clinical care (DCC) and up to 2.5 PAs for supporting professional activity (SPA). The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership, participate in management activities, and play a key role in team performance, service development, and clinical pathway planning.
The post involves managing, appraising, and supervising junior medical staff, ensuring compliance with the Working Time Directive, and adhering to professional standards set by the GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists. The role requires maintaining professional registration, participating in appraisals and CPD, and undertaking administrative duties related to patient care.
