Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Good standard of numeracy and literacy
2. Completion of a competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational level 3
Desirable criteria
3. Short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties
Knowledge
Essential criteria
4. An understanding around basic patient care
Desirable criteria
5. Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation;
6. Knowledge of same day Emergency Care Clinics
Other
Essential criteria
7. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
8. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience
Essential criteria
9. Ability to adapt and learn in a health care environment
10. Experience in working with Elderly People
Desirable criteria
11. Previous experience of working within a care environment/NHS
12. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
13. Experience in caring for people with dementia
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria
14. Understanding of basic physiology e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements etc.
15. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood)
16. Ability to follow clear instruction and feed back to senior staff
17. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
18. IT literate
