Job Title: Behaviour Mentor – Specialist SEMH Provision

We’re looking for a confident, compassionate and calm Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist secondary provision that supports young people aged 11–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Every student has (or is being assessed for) an EHCP, and many are neurodivergent.
This is a setting built for connection—not correction. With a small school feel and a high staff-to-student ratio, you’ll be part of a team that helps students re-engage with learning, regulate their emotions and rebuild their confidence.
Your day-to-day might include:
* 1:1 and small group mentoring focused on self-regulation, routine and resilience
* Supporting behaviour inside and outside the classroom with a calm, coaching approach
* Working alongside pastoral and therapeutic staff to keep young people safe, supported and heard
* Helping pupils build routines, relationships and personal goals
* Modelling consistent, respectful communication—especially when things get tough
You’ll be a great fit if you:
* Have experience in SEMH, youth work, alternative provision or therapeutic settings
* Bring a strong, steady presence to unpredictable days

* Know how to build rapport, keep boundaries, and turn tough moments into teachable ones
