Integrated Logistics Support Manager

The role:

You’ll work in a matrix organisation and report operationally through OMNIA Training and functionally through the Head of Training Support. Ultimately, you’ll work for the British Army, championing innovation, and helping shape the future of military collective training.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Successfully driving the support solution design to assure incremental and progressive acceptance of the in-service support solution.

2. Designing and developing the support solution across multiple training systems and environments to ensure a coherent collective training support solution delivering against the Requirements of the Through-Life Management Plan.

3. Evolve 'Design for Supportability Requirements' and ensure the products or services are compliant with them.

4. Responsibility for the implementation of contractual Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) requirements through the programme.

5. Deliver the Maintenance Plan, and the associated logistics spares recommendations for the products or services.

6. Maintenance of the Logistics Information Record (LIR)/Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR).

7. Attend Customer Programme, Design and ILS Reviews; to ensure ILS programme drivers are fully understood, considered and the impacts of any associated risks are reduced.

8. Support to the Engineering Leadership Team by producing ILS engineering plans, Basis of Estimates, Key Performance Targets and Statements of Work.

9. Ensuring that all ILS activities undertaken are conducted in accordance with Raytheon UK and MOD site procedures that reflects best practice.

10. Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.

11. Any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.

You’ll want to work in collaboration with other defence training organisations, and the British Army. You won’t let bureaucracy get in the way of what needs to be done, you’ll learn lessons and share these lessons across the team. You won’t necessarily have a military background, but you’ll understand what it means to serve and to put the mission first.

The OMNIA Training ILS Manager will be responsible for the design and development of the Support Solution for the Army Collective Training Service (ACTS). Responsible to the Service Delivery Manager, this position requires exceptional knowledge and experience across the breadth of all Integrated Logistic Support disciplines to act as the interface between the product/service and the support solution during the development and transition into service phases.

This role requires a systems-thinking mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability work in a multidisciplinary engineering team in a complex and evolving environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

12. An engineering background, educated to degree level or with equivalent previous related experience.

13. Proven experience managing, delivering and working with Def-STAN 00-600 and other applicable standards.

14. Proven knowledge and experience as an ILS / Supportability management.

15. Experience in a leadership role within complex, multi-disciplinary programmes.

16. Supportability engineering skills to analyse the product supportability to develop and deliver a support solution.

17. Knowledge of, and experience with implementing, ASD S-Series specifications.

18. A high level of competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

19. A comprehensive understanding of Technical Publications and Support Documents.

20. Track record of supportability case preparation and delivery.

21. Comprehensive understanding of standards and guidance relating to supportability activities.

22. Flexibility to travel regularly within the UK to support meetings.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

23. Well-developed planning and organisational abilities.

24. Familiar with Knowledge in Defence (KiD) and the Support Solutions Envelope.

25. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

26. Understanding of Availability Modelling Tools.

27. Experience of Conducting a Maintenance Task Analysis.

28. Obsolescence Management Planning.

29. Experience of training solutions, army platforms or installation of equipment at customer sites.

30. Knowledge of defence or public sector engineering standards and regulatory frameworks.

31. Experience in training transformation or learning platforms.

32. SAFe and ITIL4 certified.

33. Security cleared or ability to obtain (SC or above).
