Title Apprenticeships and Emerging Talent Apprentice Working Hours: 40 Hours Reporting to: Apprenticeships and Emerging Talent Lead Location: Head Office Department: People Culture & Purpose Direct Reports: 0 Role objective: This is an exciting opportunity to join JD Group’s Apprenticeships & Emerging Talent team as an apprentice, supporting the day-to-day running of our programmes and gaining hands-on experience in business administration, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination. This role is perfect for someone passionate about people development, early careers, and making a difference in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be working towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, gaining valuable skills and a nationally recognised qualification while contributing to projects that impact real people across our business. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Apprenticeships & Emerging Talent team Support the onboarding and induction process for new apprentices across the Group Maintain and update key trackers, databases, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail Assist in scheduling meetings, events, and training sessions Liaise with internal departments and external providers to coordinate apprenticeship activities Help manage our inbox, responding to queries from apprentices, managers, and providers Take meeting minutes, create action logs, and follow up on key tasks as required Contribute to internal communications, such as newsletters, success stories, and campaigns Support planning and delivery of events such as National Apprenticeship Week, assessment centres, and workshops Carry out general office and admin duties to support the wider team Skills and Experience: Passionate about supporting learner journeys and career development. Organisation skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks an advantage. Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Some experience in Microsoft Office and comfortable using systems to manage data. Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Awareness of apprenticeships or early careers programmes Willingness to learn and grow with support and coaching from the Lead. What You’ll Learn: Project coordination and time management in a corporate environment Stakeholder engagement and effective communication across different levels of the business Use of key business tools (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Teams, HR systems) Insight into apprenticeship standards, funding rules, and emerging talent strategies How to work collaboratively in a team that drives inclusion and development What We’re Looking For: A genuine interest in people development and early careers Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks Confident communicator, both written and verbal Willingness to learn and get involved Proactive and able to use initiative Comfortable using basic IT systems (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.) Ability to work as part of a team and build positive working relationships Entry Requirements Not already qualified at Level 3 or above in a similar business administration subject Passionate about learning and growing a career in HR, apprenticeships, or early careers What You’ll Get in Return A fully funded Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Hands-on experience in a Group-level HR team with real responsibilities Support from a dedicated line manager and apprenticeship training provider Access to JD Group’s benefits, including staff discount and wellbeing initiatives A chance to be part of a business that values inclusion, development, and potential Additional Requirements: The role will be based at the Head Office but will involve work and travel throughout the country with some occasional overnight stays and potential evening work.
