HGV Class 1 Driver People Solutions are looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver for our client based in Nuneaton. Shifts: Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 6pm Rates of Pay: £44,000 per annum (minimum 50 hours paid per week) Benefits: Your benefits as a HGV Class 1 Driver will be: Permanent role from day one Monday to Friday work Excellent rates of pay Well-maintained vehicles Ongoing training and development opportunities tailored to the individual A generous annual leave package A comprehensive healthcare and life insurance scheme Day-to-Day Duties: Your duties as a Class 1 Drive will be: Supervise the loading of vehicles so that items are safely loaded and secured for transit and to minimise the risk of damage Drive allocated vehicle safely and in compliance with legislative requirements Drive in accordance with tachograph laws and driver hour limits Ensure allocated vehicle is not subject to unnecessary damage Comply with company wide fuel efficiency directives Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab and general tidy appearance of allocated vehicle Ensure on arrival that a delivery is safe to make, respecting site rules and customer's property; if in doubt consulting with site staff/customers and/or Transport Manager Check goods off with sites and obtain proof of delivery or collection Handle any customer issues efficiently, contacting Transport Manager for assistance as required Provide excellent customer service at all times and be an ambassador for the Company Provide support in the Yard as required by the Yard Manager Keep abreast of existing and new legislation in relation to duties and responsibilities Essential Skills: The skills required to be a HGV Class 1 Driver will be: Hold a valid UK Category CE Driving Licence Hold a valid Driver Qualification Card (DCPC) Hold valid Digital Tachograph Card At least twelve months Category CE vehicle driving experience Desirable Experience: Be reasonably physically fit due to the nature of the role Basic IT Skills required to use device to update Company system Excellent communication skills Ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism A positive ‘can-do' attitude and the ability to be a keen team player Training: Full training and paid induction provided by the client on day one of employment Contact: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity as a HGV Class 1 Driver, apply today by clicking the link below or contact our recruitment team to find out more.
