We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team at Belvoir Health Group. The role covers appointments across three surgeries: Cropwell Bishop, Bingham and Cotgrave. The closing date for applications is 11 June 2026.
Role Overview
As a Practice Nurse, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centred nursing care to our diverse patient population of over 26,000 individuals. This includes managing long‑term conditions, delivering health promotion, wound care, vaccinations, venepuncture, ECGs, assisting with minor surgery, and developing care plans. You will also support minor surgical procedures, immunisations, screening examinations, and home visits.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide treatment room nursing services including:
o Wound care and wound management
o Venepuncture
o ECGs
o Routine injections
o Urinalysis
* Collaborate with GPs and Non‑Medical Prescribers to organise medications, wound dressings, and ongoing care plans.
* Conduct travel health assessments and provide basic travel vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis and travel health advice, referring for specialist advice when appropriate.
* Offer contraceptive and sexual health services, including contraceptive advice, coil checks and administration of Depo‑Provera.
* Ensure patients are monitored on their chosen contraception treatment pathway.
* Provide cervical screening services in line with national policy and NHS recall systems.
* Undertake routine swabs as requested by GPs or Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
* Deliver childhood and adult immunisations in accordance with the national immunisation schedule.
* Conduct screening examinations, including NHS health checks.
* Perform home visits on behalf of the practice when appropriate and requested by the GP or Nursing Services Manager.
* Support the ongoing management of patients with long‑term conditions such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and asthma.
* Maintain disease registers and patient recall systems.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence‑based chronic disease management.
* Maintain accurate, clear and contemporaneous clinical records.
* Participate in clinical audit, service improvement initiatives, research activities and quality assurance programmes.
* Represent the group at PCN and ICB meetings as delegated.
* Assist in the training of Health Care Assistants, Phlebotomists and Nursing Students as required.
* Attend mandatory training, practice meetings and continuing professional development activities.
* Adhere to the practice complaints procedure and manage patient concerns appropriately.
* Maintain clinical rooms to high standards of cleanliness and safety, participating in infection prevention & control and health & safety audits.
* Perform any other duties appropriate to the role as delegated.
Qualifications & Experience
* NMC registered.
* Experience in primary or secondary care nursing.
* Experience in general practice is welcomed but not essential.
* Practical experience of working with others; experience of using own initiative.
