Continued growth has created the need for an experiencedmercial Manager to support the expanding workload and strengthen senior leadership within themercial function.
Your new role
In this position, you will take full responsibility for overseeing and directing themercial function across a range of building, fit‑out and refurbishment projects. You will lead themercial team, ensuring that allmercial activity supports the organisation’s strategic goals, and you will report directly to the Managing Director, contributing to high‑levelmercial planning and decision‑making.
You will manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, valuations and final accounts while ensuring rigorousmercialernance and contractpliance. Working closely with project management and operational colleagues, you will monitor performance, identifymercial risks and opportunities and ensure that procurement, subcontractor management and contractual negotiations are delivered to the highest standard. A key part of the role involves supporting the development ofmercial strategy, improving efficiencies and ensuring the long‑termmercial health of the business.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring significant experience in amercial or quantity surveying role within the construction industry and ideally within a main contracting environment. You will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, procurement andmercial reporting, with proven experience managingmercial teams. Confidence in stakeholder management, negotiation and problem‑solving is essential, along with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment while representing themercial interests of the organisation at senior level.
