About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our Technical team, supporting our coil winding and electronics manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in technical drawing, customer collaboration, and production support, helping to drive innovation and efficiency across our sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Drawing & Design
* Create and modify CAD drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
* Interpret customer specifications and ensure compliance with standards.
* Customer Interaction
* Collaborate with customers to refine designs and suggest improvements.
* Advise on design-for-manufacture and cost-effective solutions.
* Production Support
* Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to aid manufacturing.
* Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work with estimators, engineers, and support staff to align project goals.
* Contribute to quoting, design reviews, and root cause analysis.
* Documentation & Standards
* Maintain design records and ensure documentation meets quality standards.
* Support creation of work instructions and uphold health & safety practices.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in design engineering, ideally within electronics or coil winding.
* Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
* Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and tolerances.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with production tooling and fixtures is highly desirable.
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Experience in coil winding or electronic assembly.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, forming, additive manufacturing).

Education:
* Diploma of Higher Education (required)
Experience:
* Design Engineering: 2 years (required)
* Mechanical/Electrical Engineering: 1 year (preferred)
