Are you confident, organised, and passionate about working with young people? We are seeking a proactive and dependable Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant secondary school and play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged, on task, and well-behaved. All lesson materials and instructions are provided – your focus is to manage the classroom environment and maintain continuity of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise classes during teacher absences
2. Ensure students follow the set work and stay focused
3. Manage behaviour in line with school policies
4. Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress or concerns
5. Support the wider school team when cover is not required (, admin or pastoral support)
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
6. Has experience working with young people (, in a school, youth work, tutoring, or similar)
7. Can manage classroom behaviour calmly and effectively
8. Is flexible, professional, and able to use their initiative
9. Is enthusiastic about education and supporting students to succeed
10. Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; further qualifications or training are desirable
