HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Location
Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Role Responsibilities
* Implement planning responsibilities and ensure full compliance with HS2 requirements.
* Capture, integrate, and review programme, budget, cost, and risk information at asset and sub‑asset levels.
* Support project delivery through best practice, innovation, and effective use of IT systems for accurate performance reporting.
* Promote BBV values, maintain a relentless focus on Zero Harm, and contribute to continuous performance improvement.
* Work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
* Strong computer literacy, including Primavera, Microsoft Project, Word/Excel, TiLOS, and Synchro.
* Competent in report writing, presenting information clearly, and applying logical, detail‑focused thinking.
* Experience working on‑site within relevant disciplines, including time spent as a discipline planner.
* Knowledge of project controls, planning, performance reporting, risk, construction methods, labour, plant, and the factors that drive delay or change entitlement.
* Desirable academic background such as a degree, HND, or equivalent in a relevant subject.
