Business Development Lead for Marketing Industry focused role


Our client is a dynamic intermediary between global brands and the UK's top marketing and advertising agencies, forging enduring and equitable relationships. They stand out in a crowded marketplace through their innovative approach, appetite for positive change, and unique offering. They are looking for a Business Development specialist to define their commercial strategy and deepen their partnerships with agencies.


About the role

You will be joining a company that aims to set a progressive industry agenda and is becoming an increasingly provocative, disruptive, and modernising voice.

* This is a key strategic growth role where you will refine their approach, open new doors, and help more brands and agencies benefit from what they offer.
* Lead high-quality conversations with senior leadership and play an active external role across industry gatherings, events, and communities to expand their presence.
* You will be representing a service that includes pitch consultancy and a powerful marketing intelligence platform.
* You will manage one direct report, with the opportunity to shape and build a small team as the function grows.


What You'll Lead 🎯

This role combines strategy and hands-on relationship building. You will:

* Define and execute new business strategy for the business.
* Build and manage a strong, transparent pipeline that reflects both short and long-term opportunities.
* Evolve the way they nurture and convert leads, making the process more personal, intentional, and scalable.
* Partner with the senior team to leverage networks and shape their broader commercial direction.
* Own HubSpot usage and reporting, ensuring clarity and alignment across the business.
* Deliver against clear individual and team commercial targets.


What You'll Bring 🧠

* Experience: 4+ years in business development or commercial growth roles within the creative, marketing, or agency ecosystem.
* Someone who genuinely understands how agencies win work, grow clients, and differentiate themselves.
* Confident in developing strategy, spotting opportunities, and navigating senior conversations.
* Comfortable building long-term commercial relationships built on trust.
* A clear communicator who can listen deeply and articulate value simply.
