Post Title: Family Nurse

Location: The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) bases are located in several different venues throughout Fife. FNP is a Fife-wide service and therefore all Family Nurses are required to travel throughout the locality of Fife.

Salary/Banding: Band 7

Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours, Full Time: 5 days per week (part time will be considered)

The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is delighted to be recruiting a new Family Nurse to join one of our teams based in Dunfermline.

FNP is a specialist relational intensive home visiting service offered to all eligible first time pregnant mothers aged 20 years and under, and aged 25 and under if care experienced. The programme starts from early pregnancy until the first child turns 2 years of age. FNP is underpinned by an internationally robust evidence base which shows it can improve health, social and educational outcomes in the short, medium and long term. The programme is delivered, alongside the universal Child Health Surveillance Programme (CHSP), by family nurses who also undertake the role of the named person for the child.
We are seeking applicants who are:
Able to demonstrate an understanding of the FNP programme
Passionate about working with young parents and committed to supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing outcomes.
Motivated by making a difference in the lives of children and families in the community.
Skilled in forming strong therapeutic relationships and delivering person-centred care.
Reflective practitioners in order to promote the FNP programme delivery
Experienced in holding a caseload and working autonomously this is essential to ensure you can manage and prioritise complex needs within a structured programme.
Professional experience working with young people
A working knowledge and experience of Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), child protection and legislation relating to children and young people.

The opportunity to study towards a masters Diploma in Family Nursing, supporting your professional growth and specialist development. This course is undertaken in your own time and complements the reflective, evidence-based nature of the Family Nurse Partnership model.

Successful applicants are required to be in post by 2nd March 2026 in time to commence the mandatory FNP education, some of which is residential.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on Thursday 27th November 2025.

Interviews will include a formal panel interview (including role play) and a separate interview with FNP clients.
