Specialist Doctor, Child & Adult Psychiatry – CAMHS High Intensity Unit
Join Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The position is based in Bournemouth on the new 8‑bed High Intensity Environment/PICU, opening in 2026 on Alumhurst Road. You will work alongside the substantive Consultant / Consultant Nurse AC across Pebble Lodge and the High Intensity Environment.
Responsibilities include:
* Assessment, treatment planning and care planning for patients with complex presentations.
* Direct face‑to‑face clinical time, meetings with families, community staff and ward teams.
* Reviewing records, clinical report writing, tribunal work and discharge planning.
* Participation in daily ward meetings, CPA and other multidisciplinary meetings.
* Maintaining Section 12(2) requirements and serving as an Approved Clinician under the supervision of consultant psychiatrists and the Consultant Nurse AC.
