We are excited to invite applications for the position of Lecturer in Plumbing and Heating. This role requires an experienced and qualified individual who can deliver high-quality training and assessment on Plumbing and Heating Apprenticeships and Level 3 Plumbing & Heating Diplomas. As a Lecturer, you will work in partnership with the curriculum delivery and apprenticeship teams fostering the growth of future professionals in the industry.


To be considered for this role, you must have relevant qualifications and experience in Plumbing and Heating. Additionally, it was be advantageous if you are able to demonstrate experience in delivering high-quality teaching and assessment. If you are passionate about providing excellent training and assessment and have the necessary qualifications and experience, we would be delighted to hear from you.


Levelling up premium payments for FE teachers

Attention all eligible FE teachers! Are you looking to level up your career and earn more while teaching specific courses? You may be eligible to claim a levelling-up premium payment for teaching courses in building and construction, chemistry, computing, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics. The payment ranges from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on your provider and the number of hours you teach. If you’re in your first 5 years of teaching in FE and spend at least half of your hours teaching eligible FE courses at level 3 or below, you may be eligible. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to level up your career!

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver and assess competence-based training including group or classroom-based sessions.
* Set, mark, and assess students’ work, ensuring that learning outcomes have been met, and that feedback is both detailed and constructive.
* Keep up-to-date with relevant course subject matter, industrial/commercial developments, course examination/assessment requirements, and legislation.
* Use technology, including the college’s virtual learning environment, effectively to enable independent learning at any time or place.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of self and others and to ensure the continuous improvement of performance.
* Provide a point of contact for student welfare issues referring problems on where they are complex or serious, communicating poor patterns of attendance and punctuality to co-ordinators.


Requirements:

* Experience in delivering high quality teaching/assessment and learning on Plumbing and Domestic Heating Apprenticeships and/or Diplomas is preferred.
* Relevant qualifications in Plumbing and Domestic Heating.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, or equivalent packages.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in order to deliver individual and team objectives
