Role purpose
To manage and grow a portfolio of UK accounts, delivering profitable sales growth by building strong, long‑term customer relationships and proactively identifying new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities
· Deliver sales and margin targets in line with the UK Sales Plan for the account management team.
· Provide a genuinely client‑focused service, ensuring high levels of responsiveness, professionalism and product knowledge in every interaction.
· Maintain regular, structured contact with all allocated accounts (phone, email, online meetings and occasional visits where required).
· Proactively identify, qualify and convert new sales opportunities within existing accounts and through inbound/outbound enquiries.
· Use all available tools, systems and support functions to maximise revenue and protect profitability.
· Monitor product performance across your accounts, highlighting any significant enquiries that may impact stock levels or supply.
· Gather and share insight on new product requirements, customer trends and opportunities for product development.
· Track and report competitor activity, including products, pricing and promotional activity.
· Contribute to continuous improvement within the Sales Team by sharing ideas, best practice and customer feedback.
· Produce accurate monthly KPIs and any additional reports required by the General Sales Manager.
· Ensure all company systems, processes and procedures are followed, including CRM usage, pricing, quotations and order processing.
· Attend customer meetings, site visits and relevant exhibitions as required to support account growth and customer retention.

Skills and experience
· Proven experience in internal sales or account management, ideally in a technical or manufacturing environment.
· Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with a customer‑first mindset.
· Commercial awareness with the ability to balance revenue growth and profitability.
· Comfortable working to targets, using data and KPIs to manage performance.
· Strong commercial acumen, able to assess opportunities, build profitable proposals and protect margin.
· Strategic thinking: capable of mapping target markets, defining account plans and prioritising high value opportunities.
· Excellent stakeholder management, building trust with customers, internal teams and senior decision makers.
· Organised and disciplined in using CRM and sales processes to manage pipelines and forecast accurately.
