Key Details
Salary: £7.55 per hour, increasing to the National Minimum Wage after 12 months
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM – 03:30 PM (term time only), 34.5 hours per week
Location: 24-26 Cauldwell Street, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK42 9AD
Apprenticeship Details
Expected duration: 16 months, working towards Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Qualification. All training is delivered online/remotely.
Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)
Role Responsibilities
* Support pupils' development, including physical and mental well-being, within the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
* Develop knowledge of various learning support needs.
* Assist individual students inside and outside the classroom to facilitate interaction and engagement.
* Establish constructive relationships with students, promoting inclusion and acceptance.
* Set challenging expectations to foster self-esteem and independence.
* Provide pastoral care to ensure students feel secure and happy.
* Offer feedback on student progress and achievements to teachers.
* Help develop and implement support programs for students.
* Provide regular feedback on students' progress.
* Promote good behaviour, manage conflicts promptly, and encourage responsibility.
* Assist with routine tasks such as marking and photocopying.
* Support effective learning by helping students understand instructions, use equipment, and develop independence.
Essential Skills
* GCSE Grade A*-C or 4-9 in Mathematics and English Language, or equivalent.
