Role Overview:
As Finance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring operational efficiency. Here's what you'll be responsible for:
1. Leadership and Oversight:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy finance function, including effective line management within the team.
* Collaborate closely with the Finance Director and Financial Controller to achieve departmental targets.
2. Team Development:
* Coordinate staff development initiatives, conducting regular staff appraisals and fostering professional growth
* Facilitate one-on-one sessions to support team members' career progression.
3. Financial Reporting:
* Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
* Present financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) during internal and to clients.
4. Budgeting and Control:
* Lead the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
* Maintain day-to-day control over all aspects of profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet management.
5. Client Interaction:
* Address ad hoc customer requests promptly and effectively, meeting required deadlines.
* Develop financial reporting structures that enhance business value.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
* Ensure our customer-facing finance colleagues meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide comprehensive financial reports, including primary financial reports, trading dashboards, and divisional and client financial information.
7. Performance Evaluation:
* Continuously review and report actual financial performance against budget.
* Back up your insights with clear documentation and explanations, adding value to our decision-making processes.
8. Process Excellence:
* Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Accountant: Ideally ACCA, CIMA, or CA, with relevant post-qualification experience (2-3 years+). Qbe's with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
* Experience: Proven track record as a finance manager role or an outstanding candidate ready for the next step. Excellent technical knowledge in management accounting, financial reporting, and taxation.
* Client Focus: Experience working within a client-driven environment, understanding and delivering business requirements.
* Interpersonal Skills: Confidence and strong communication skills when interfacing with internal/external stakeholders at all levels.
* People Management: Proven track record of managing staff including 121's
