Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in supporting machining operations throughout the full production lifecycle. The position focuses on CNC programming, machining process planning, and engineering support to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacture of complex components. The role operates within a large‑scale machine shop environment and supports both current production and future manufacturing developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Create 3D component models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD/CAM software
* Produce CNC programs for both milling and turning operations
* Support internal development work, including component and process design
* Develop step‑by‑step routing of components through machine shop operations
* Optimise machining processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
* Apply structured risk assessment and control for process and engineering changes
About You
* Strong CNC programming experience, ideally within forgings or castings
* Good knowledge of modern machining methods and tooling technologies
* CAD/CAM experience (Siemens NX or similar preferred)
* Proven ability to produce accurate engineering models and drawings
* Hands‑on experience with offline CNC programming for milling and turning
* Familiarity with program verification software (e.g. Vericut or equivalent)
* Apprentice‑trained machinist background (desirable)
