We are seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic, reliable and flexible person with excellent communication and administrative skills to join our MCoC team based in Blackburn.
You will be responsible for supporting the team with effective and clear lines of communication to enable the team to run smoothly. You will maintain high standards of record keeping in line with data protection, have appropriate IT skills and knowledge of clerical and customer care elements associated with the role.
The core working hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday working a 37.5-hour week, However, the postholder may be expected to be flexible around these core hours.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will demonstrate the values and behaviours of the trust’s behavioural framework to maintain public confidence and professional and courteous working relationships with staff within the department.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating the team, answering the telephone and liaising with patients face-to-face. You will be required to assist clinicians within the team with all aspects of administrative tasks, utilising the relevant IT systems. You will ensure the confidential management of records including the timely scanning of notes into Badgernet. You will be responsible for operating IT systems, ensuring data entry is correct and updated and necessary. You will collaborate regularly with the MCoC lead and the other members of the team

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will work with the MCoC midwifery team in the community setting, undertaking a range of duties including home visits independently referring to the midwifery team where necessary. The post holder will also work within agreed guidelines and protocols when providing care to women and their families whilst supporting families in adaptation to parenthood.
The post holder will utilise enhanced knowledge and skills to carry out a wider range of duties with more responsibilities within the scope of the MSW role. The post holder will be expected to organise and manage their own workload independently daily.
You will be part of a team working flexibly across hospital and community settings, whilst the post holder will work predominantly weekdays, a degree of flexibility will be required as the team evolves

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NVQ 3 in healthcare or equivalent experience
* GCSE English and Mathematics (grade C or equivalent)
* Completion of care certificate
* Completion of the MSW Band 3 competencies
Desirable criteria
* NVQ 4 in a health care related subject
Experience
Essential criteria
* Prior experience within the maternity/health departments
* Experience of multi professional working across health care settings
* Experience in using hospital IT systems such as badgernet
* Experience of undertaking a range of administrative duties to include work processing skills
* Experience of using MS office systems to include office 365, spreadsheets and databases

* Experience of working within a maternity service within the NHS
