Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs. Support pupils in accessing the curriculum through tailored interventions and differentiated resources. Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement EHCPs. Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment. Assist with personal care and emotional regulation as required. Promote independence, self-esteem, and social development Job Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational or care setting. Calm, empathetic, and patient manner. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic knowledge of strategies and tools used to support SEN pupils (e.g., visual timetables, Makaton, PECS). Relevant TA or SEN qualification is desirable but not essential. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Choose GSL Education?
