Teacher of Design and Technology – Textiles
Start date: January or February 2026
Contract: Long-term, until July 2026
Location: West London

Love watching creativity come to life in the classroom? This one’s for you.

We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary school with a strong sense of community and high expectations for both pupils and staff. They’re looking for a Teacher of Design and Technology with a Textiles specialism to join their team from January or February through to the end of the academic year.

This is a school that values practical learning, realworld skills, and giving students the confidence to create, experiment, and problem-solve. The DT department is well-resourced and collaborative, with a real appetite for fresh ideas and subject passion.

What the role looks like:

1. Teaching Design and Technology with a clear focus on Textiles across KS3 and KS4

2. Planning and delivering engaging, hands-on lessons that inspire creativity

3. Supporting students of mixed abilities to develop both technical skills and independence

4. Working closely with a supportive department and wider staff team

Who they’re keen to meet:

5. A strong Textiles specialist who knows their subject inside out

6. Qualified teachers are welcome, but the school is open-minded and happy to consider non-qualified teachers with solid subject expertise and classroom confidence

7. Someone positive, organised, and keen to get stuck into school life

8. A teacher who enjoys building relationships and helping young people thrive

Why this role works:

9. Long-term stability from January or February through to July

10. Supportive leadership and a clear behaviour policy

11. Well-equipped DT facilities and students who enjoy creative subjects

12. A chance to make a real impact without committing to a permanent post just yet

What you’ll get through Protocol Education:

13. Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella faff

14. Free access to our online CPD Academy

15. A dedicated consultant who actually listens

16. Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings

If you’re a Textiles specialist looking for a fresh challenge, or you’ve got the industry experience and want to bring it into the classroom, this could be a brilliant fit.
