About the Role
UWC Atlantic is seeking a highly skilled, well organised and personable Clerk to the Governors to lead on governance matters at the College and support the Board. The position, based at the College campus in South Wales, will work directly for the Chair of Governors. You will be responsible for ensuring the College adheres to all statutory regulations, internal policies and risk management protoco
We are seeking someone proactive and self-motivated with excellent organisation and communication skills. Working directly for the Board’s Chair, your responsibilities will focus on clerk support to the Board of Governors. You will possess the skills to provide clear procedural guidance to the Governors, ensuring their awareness of their responsibilities under current legislation and the college's articles of association.
You will manage the schedule of Board and committee meetings and handle all aspects of documentation and record keeping. You will also monitor the College’s risk management process with both the Leadership Team and the Board, and be expected to confidently and appropriately challenge senior managers and Board members.
You should have a strong understanding of governance principles and experience developing and executing a governance and compliance framework and supporting a Board. Additionally, you should be committed to the deliberate diversity that is central to UWC Atlantic and able to identify and address biases, using culturally relevant approaches to support students and employees. You should also be demonstrably committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of children and young adults.
