Looking to make a hands-on difference in the lives of young people? As a Core Support Volunteer, you’ll be a vital part of our frontline teams – supporting in our housing services. From lending a hand with day-to-day tasks to offering a friendly face and practical support, you’ll be helping to create safe, supportive environments where young people can thrive. This role is to assist in arts and crafts sessions with our young people, in order to give them a creative outlet. This could include painting, scrapbooking, crochet, pottery and more! CORE TASKS Assist with arts and crafts activities Work with young people and staff to organise these activities Be an encouraging and supportive member of the team WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR ESSENTIAL Interest in creative and artistic activities (a focus on crochet would be desirable but not essential) IT competent - able to use Microsoft Office including Microsoft Teams Ability to communicate confidently and clearly with young people, other volunteers and staff Ability to remain calm when involved with challenging individuals and situations Understanding of the issues – practical and emotional – facing young people Understanding of the importance of teamwork and a strong commitment to being part of a team Be reliable and have a positive outlook A commitment to demonstrating Centrepoint’s values What do we offer you?
