Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of dishes as directed by senior chefs.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to.
* Support the team in food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
* Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
* Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, fostering a positive team environment.
Skills
* Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
* Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
* Basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn and develop further.
