Residential Social Care Worker – Adults

We have an opportunity for 2 Residential Social Care Workers (RSCW) to join our Adult Residential Care team in Hazel Grove.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (working 5 shifts each week over a 7‑day rota, candidates must have the flexibility of working any day of the week including weekends.)
Starting Salary: £24,700.00 per year (£12.67 per hour) with biennial increments.
Salary Enhancement: Sleep in payment of £100.80 per sleep and a 25% uplift on the hourly rate for weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Adult residential care team providing support for individuals with their physical, clinical, health, emotional and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.
* Provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the residents.
* Support includes ventilation, tracheostomy, gastrointestinal tract support and PEG feeding.
* Administer medication, moving and handling and personal care.
* Follow hospital care plans and processes, completing and updating of these forms in a concise manner.
* Demonstrate a good understanding of English and complete all paperwork and care plans to a good quality due to intensity of service users.
* Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans considering the wishes, feelings and best interests of the residents.
* Undertake direct work designed to meet the needs of agreed care plans, enabling residents to reach their full potential.
* Spend some administrative hours attending meetings, supervisions/appraisals, training and annual residents reviews.
* Undertake activities with the residents within the community.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of the work undertaken with the residents, completing written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews.
* Perform a range of domestic duties, including cooking and some cleaning ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.

* Previous experience working in an adult residential setting.
* Ability to work unsociable hours.
* Flexibility to respond to the needs of the service and residents along with good communication and interpersonal skills.
