Monarch Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded special school in Cheltenham, and we are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will help students manage their emotions, develop positive coping strategies, and engage more effectively with their learning.
About the School:
The school caters for pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in managing behaviour and emotional regulation
* Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model
* Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies
* Help create a calm and inclusive learning environment
* Contribute to individual behaviour plans and progress tracking
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEN or SEMH setting
* Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
* A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support (desirable but not essential)
