Position
Purchase Ledger Clerk – Newcastle under Lyme. Salary: £26-27.5k + 25 days holiday + flexible working.
Responsibilities
* As the Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for the smooth running of the finance department’s accounts payable function, ensuring everything is completed in a competent and timely manner.
* Setting up new suppliers and ensuring they meet the organisations criteria.
* Issuing purchase orders ensuring that all correct procedures have been followed relating to authorisation levels and ‘best quote’ policy.
* Matching invoices to purchase orders and posting invoices onto the Finance system.
* Preparing month end payment runs ensuring we are adhering to the organisations payment terms.
* Processing ad hoc payments throughout the month.
* Monthly scanning of all invoices.
* Monthly statement reconciliations.
* Reconciliation of the monthly credit card statement and ensuring there are purchase orders and receipts for all items.
Additional responsibilities
You will also have the opportunity to support the wider Finance Team with tasks including; daily reconciliations, updating spreadsheets, banking, liaising with suppliers amongst others.
Requirements
* Highly numerate.
* Good attention to detail.
* Experience of working within a purchase ledger department/team.
* A positive can-do attitude.
* Flexible with a willingness to learn other areas of the finance function.
* Team player.
* Excellent IT skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
