The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll lead and deliver a suite of infrastructure upgrade projects across one of the UK’s most critical naval sites. You’ll be at the heart of projects that shape the future of our operations, working with cutting-edge engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
1. Lead and coordinate multiple infrastructure upgrade projects across the Devonport site
2. Manage projects through all lifecycle stages, ensuring scope, schedule and quality standards are met
3. Update and maintain project programmes, tracking progress and adjusting plans as needed
4. Oversee project finances, including budgets, forecasts and cost control measures
5. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard for 6 months initially with the option to work on a hybrid basis thereafter.
Essential experience of the Project Manager
6. Significant experience in project management and delivering infrastructure projects
7. Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage and produce outputs independently
8. Advanced knowledge of APM principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
9. Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders
10. Proven experience in commercial management, including budgeting and cost control
Qualifications for the Project Manager
11. Degree in engineering, construction, or project-related discipline
12. Appropriate APM qualification
