Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a track record of success in testing within large, complex, client facing transformation programs. The Alpha Global Testing Practice is focused on the strategy, planning, execution, and overall management, of end-to-end platform testing during Alpha implementations in support of our clients, internal business units, and industry partners. These transformation programs are often multi-year and consist of complex business models and flows across front, middle, and back office, and the data that persists across the platform, our clients, and industry partners.

The right candidate will have experience and proven success in managing senior client and internal stakeholders, overseeing, and driving complex project plans, managing change, understanding and testing data models, business workflow, and systems architecture.

What you will be responsible for

This client facing role will be responsible for managing a client implementation program globally to onboard the client to State Street’s Alpha platform, including:

1. Representing State Street Alpha and presenting to clients on the testing journey, testing standards, and managing overall expectations at the onset and during the implementation
2. Financial planning and resource management for the testing team including estimation, budget to actual, and change management
3. Strategic thought leadership and active engagement in end-to-end implementation delivery model
4. Senior client and internal stakeholder management
5. Managing a global testing team of functional and automation testers who design, plan, and execute testing for all in scope workflows, data models/flows, and the overall platform architecture
6. Adoption and continuous improvement of best practices and testing standards
7. Managing creation and delivery of internal and client facing documents (client proposals, playbooks, test automation, test plans)
8. Leading the planning and execution of all testing activities and providing regular status updates to senior leaders

What we value

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, and understand global portfolio management and financial servicing; including portfolio construction, trading, compliance, and risk across all major asset classes. This position will have interaction with, and exposure to, the highest levels of executive management within State Street and within our clients’ organizations.

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

9. Deep client engagement and expectation management across project life cycles
10. Strong interest in global capital markets and quantitative investments
11. Strong analytical and organizational skills
12. Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally structured, and team-based environment, as well as the ability to work independently
13. Experience in agile methodology and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) preferred
14. Electronic trading platforms experience is useful but not essential
15. Experience in portfolio management theory and application is useful but not essential
16. Risk management skills, especially those acquired at G-SIFI organizations and/or large public accounting firms
17. Knowledge of key risk indicators, governance, oversight and escalation practices
18. Presentation preparation and delivery for business risk committees and cross organizational, executive and board of directors’ committees
19. Strong execution management skills for delivery of programs and initiatives
20. Ability to collaborate and work across multiple stakeholders

Education & Preferred Qualifications

21. Bachelor’s degree or above
22. 18+ years of financial and/or technology transformation experience
23. 10+ years’ experience leading and managing project teams consisting of employees, contractors, and partner organizations
24. 8+ years experience directly engaging clients at senior levels of their organizations
