SEND Teacher – Full-Time Location: Hull Start Date: ASAP Pay: Dependent on experience GSL Education is working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Hull to recruit a SEND Teacher. This is a rewarding, full-time role for a committed, adaptable, and passionate professional who wants to make a real difference to young people with SEMH and SEND needs. Role Overview As a SEND Teacher, you will: Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and SEND. Support learners who may have previously struggled in mainstream education. Work 1:1 and in small groups to promote engagement, learning, and personal development. Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies, behaviour support, and de-escalation techniques. Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and interventions. Collaborate closely with pastoral staff, leadership, and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing and achievement. Act as a positive role model, fostering trust, respect, and consistency. Person Specification We are looking for candidates who: Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent. Have experience or interest in SEMH, SEND, and alternative provision education. Are adaptable, patient, and resilient, able to manage challenging situations with confidence. Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents, and colleagues. Are committed to helping young people achieve their potential, academically and socially.
