Our current HCA is leaving us after many years to train as a nurse. We are looking for our next senior healthcare assistant based at the Ilkley site for I G Medical.
I G Medical is a multi-site practice with an 18,000 patient list size and a large, diverse clinical team.

Main duties of the job
To support the practice nursing team in delivering nursing services, working as part of the multidisciplinary team, and providing care within their scope of practice to the patient population. The healthcare assistant will assist clinical staff in treatment, preventative care, health promotion, and patient education.

Job responsibilities
The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Supporting practice nurses with health promotion programs
2. Carrying out baseline observations (pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate) and recording findings
3. Facilitating routine and 24-hour BP monitoring and advising patients accordingly
4. Undertaking wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks
5. Supporting chronic disease management clinics
6. Conducting BMI checks
7. Performing venepuncture
8. Administering flu vaccinations and B12 injections
9. Carrying out ear irrigation
10. Performing ECGs as requested
11. Delivering domiciliary services in the community
12. Ensuring specimens are recorded and prepared for transport
13. Supporting minor operations
14. Maintaining stock levels and preparing clinical rooms
15. Cleaning fridges routinely as per guidelines
16. Managing clinical waste and sharps disposal
17. Delivering opportunistic health promotion
18. Using clinical system software for audits
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Healthcare qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards equivalent
* Ear syringing certification

* Wound care, suture and staple removal
* ECGs
* Venepuncture
* Performing new patient medicals (height, weight, BP, pulse)
* Accurate clinical note recording
