Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Lead to join our Group to work with the Central Team in ensuring effective procedures for safeguarding children are applied in our schools. Serenity Schools Group is a growing group of specialist schools providing high-quality education for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are seeking a highly experienced, principled, and proactive Group Safeguarding Lead to take strategic and operational responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across our five schools. This is a vital leadership role that requires deep knowledge of statutory safeguarding frameworks, confident multi-agency partnership working, and the ability to lead and support designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) across diverse school contexts. What You Will Do Act as the Strategic Lead for Safeguarding across the SED Group. Provide professional supervision, guidance and oversight to DSLs in each school. Lead on group-wide safeguarding policy, procedures and training in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education and other statutory guidance. Undertake regular audits of safeguarding practice, analyse trends, and report to the Executive Team and Board. Coordinate responses to complex safeguarding cases, liaising with external agencies and ensuring appropriate escalation and accountability. Contribute to staff induction and ongoing training, including oversight of safer recruitment practices. Maintain oversight of LADO referrals, strategy meetings, and all statutory compliance related to safeguarding and child protection. Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and safeguarding partners.
