Team – Actuarial - Health

Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth or London Office. Full time, hours per week.

What this role is all about:

As an Actuarial Manager in our Health Actuarial Reporting team, you’ll take the lead in shaping how we deliver fair value across our products. This role is about more than reporting, you’ll drive the development of robust fair value assessments, foster collaboration across business teams, and ensure our approach is both rigorous and forward-thinking. Working closely with pricing, reporting, and clinical analytics teams, you’ll provide actionable insights into profitability and take ownership of evolving our business planning process to support smarter, data-driven decisions.

Key Actions

- Fair Value & Product Insights
4. Lead annual and ongoing Fair Value assessments for all VitalityHealth products, delivering clear, actionable insight and compliance with FCA regulations (PROD 4, Consumer Duty).
5. Build and analyse complex data sets to drive informed discussions and identify value opportunities.
6. Monitor product performance, highlight risks, and ensure timely execution of improvement actions.
7. Partner with stakeholders and executives to communicate findings and ensure products deliver long-term customer value.
8. Champion the management and enhancement of products for in-force customers, ensuring access to product services, features and flexibility to meet their needs and long-term continued value.
- Profitability & Analytics
9. Own and develop business planning models and projections to support strategic goals.
10. Provide data-driven recommendations on assumptions and scenarios, aligning Actuarial, Pricing and Clinical Risk teams.
11. Create and maintain insightful dashboards to track trends and support decision-making.
- Actuarial Expertise
12. Use actuarial judgement to recommend assumptions, build and enhance models and validate results to identify risks and opportunities
13. Provide continual enhancement of existing processes and insights in a well-controlled environment. Ensuring strong governance is implemented throughout processes.

What do you need to thrive?

14. Associate or Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent
15. MS Office skills: Excel advanced, Word/PowerPoint intermediate.
16. Detailed SQL, Power BI, and other dashboard building skills to support the insights of senior managers in the business.
17. Confident and competent interaction with stakeholders across the business.
