Are you an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for someone to support the commercial delivery of a large multi-phase residential development scheme based in Exeter.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all stages of cost management – from procurement through to the finalisation of sub-contract accounts.

Requirements:
Essential:
6. HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
7. A good understanding of building regulations, construction methods, and legal obligations
8. Strong numerical and IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
9. Knowledge of standard measurement rules
10. Ability to manage budgets, assess cost data, and analyse information
11. Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills
Desirable:
12. HND or Degree in Construction
13. Working towards membership with CIOB or CIPS
14. Experience using COINS software
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities…
In this role, you’ll assist the commercial team by:
15. Supporting cost management across all project stages
16. Preparing and analysing tender packages and sub-contract orders
17. Attending site pre-start meetings and liaising with construction teams
18. Monitoring and reporting on post-contract costs
19. Managing and processing invoices and applications for payment
20. Assisting with variation accounts, final accounts, and material valuations
21. Ensuring compliance with contract terms, health & safety policies, and company procedures
22. Supporting the team with forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
23. Contributing to efficient document management and project administration
