Here at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Estates team. The Estates Department provides the hospital with a comprehensive, planned, reactive maintenance service including Life Cycle and Project Work to the electrical, mechanical, and building fabric.

The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing the timely delivery of engineering project works, including the planning and delivery of the annual life cycle replacement programme, minor new works, capital works, and supporting the Life Cycle Manager.


Main responsibilities of the role include:

1. Managing life cycle replacement schemes, minor new works, and capital works, ensuring coordination, scheduling, and budget control.
2. Preparing tender documents and evaluating tender submissions for various projects.
3. Reporting on asset condition and necessary maintenance to uphold hospital standards.
4. Conducting environmental and estate condition audits to identify asset and maintenance needs.
5. Developing a 2-year forward lifecycle replacement plan with prioritization and cost estimation.
6. Managing project consultants, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
7. Performing Responsible Person duties as appropriate.
8. Providing technical and managerial support during the delivery of the capital works program, including site supervision.


Qualifications and experience needed:

1. Degree in a relevant field with professional qualification or equivalent experience.
2. Supervisory experience in mechanical engineering or project management.
3. Knowledge of building services and M&E design requirements.
4. Proficiency in project and financial management software.
5. Experience with hospital building services is advantageous.
6. Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
7. Self-motivated with leadership skills.
8. Strong problem-solving skills.
9. Organizational skills for managing own work and team activities.
10. Flexible and adaptable to departmental needs.
