Overview
ALN Teaching Assistant - Cwmbran. Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available. The role supports pupils aged 4 to 16 with additional learning needs (ALN), including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, in a supportive and structured setting.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (term-time only). Both full-time and part-time positions available.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support pupils with SEMH and ALN needs in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
* Assist in the delivery of tailored learning and behaviour support plans.
* Help students develop confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience.
* Create a calm, consistent learning environment where pupils can thrive.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists.
* Contribute to the creation and review of personalised support strategies.
Who We’re Looking For
* A caring, adaptable individual with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
* Experience in SEMH, SEN, care, or behavioural settings is highly desirable.
* Able to manage challenging behaviour with a calm, constructive approach.
* A reliable team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Access to transport is helpful but not essential.
