Overview
Western Carpets & Pine Ltd is a well-established flooring contractor working with major housebuilders across the region. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our daily operations and ensure projects run smoothly from office to warehouse to site. This role is central to maintaining high standards of service, coordinating teams effectively, and ensuring the business continues to deliver a seamless service to our clients.
Duties
* Manage and maintain the fitting diary, scheduling labour and resources efficiently
* Assist in coordinating the work of the Customer Service Advisor, Estimator, and Warehouse teams
* Monitor job progress and ensure builder and customer expectations are consistently met
* Manager the integrity of the purchase ledger function
* Report directly to senior management on performance and areas for improvement
* Drive consistency and efficiency across office and site operations
Skills
* Proven experience in operations, scheduling, or resource planning (construction, trades, logistics, or service sectors preferred)
* Computer literate, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to quickly learn bespoke company software
* Knowledge of Xero would be an advantage
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively between fitters, customers, and office staff
* Decisive, proactive, and comfortable leading a team to achieve results
