Responsibilities
1. To work in conjunction with the Assistant Service Managers/Service Line to monitor and manage the Surgical waiting lists in line with the Trust policies and procedures, ensuring that reportable waiting deadlines are not breached.
2. Monitor daily PTL ensuring accuracy, highlighting and rectifying errors as they occur, escalating issues in advance (e.g. capacity problems) to the Management Team /Service Line as appropriate.
3. To accurately add patients to the waiting list, ensuring all admission details are fully completed, arranging admissions in accordance with clinical priority and breach date. To maintain and update patient records including any cancellations, suspensions, additional comments or patient communication.
4. To maintain the accuracy of data entered, especially in relation to the recording of patient choice and suspensions when booking TCI's.

If a DBS is required for your role, applicants are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee applies and will be paid to the DBS Service; the cost of the DBS check will be deducted from salary over the first three months. New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the salary scale stated. Applicants requiring sponsorship should assess themselves against gov.uk criteria for visa/self-sponsorship considerations. The Trust will not sponsor where the starting salary does not meet immigration rules.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: If the role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) order, a submission for Disclosure to the DBS may be required. Enhanced DBS checks submitted with omissions or inaccuracies may be withdrawn, and any errors identified on the original application may require a new application with a new DBS fee. The DBS application fee will be deducted from salary over the first three months of employment.
